Week 34: Personal Confession ~ Time out

I woke up one morning and made the decision to take a break from blogging! This is not an easy decision but it's one that I have made with a lot of thought. So much is happening and I fear if I do not slow down I might drown in my own self-made stressful life.

I love blogging but as a confessed self-motivated person it becomes hard when you can't find motivation to even write a post later on finish it. As most of you know I run two blogs and both are booming at the same time and I am very grateful, so many opportunities have come my way that I did not think possible. I have over 12 drafts sitting in my folders waiting to be made into a "something" post but I can't seem to find the right words to fit into the post and make some sense of it all.

When I was growing up in zambia I had never heard of the word stress and I did not even know or comprehend what it meant but stepping onto my now adopted home I learnt the word pretty quickly. If you went to my country and asked people what it meant to be stressed they probably say you are just lazy and I feel like that right now. This so called "stress" is what we term being lazy where am from  and  do not get your knickers twisted I am not saying people who are "stressed" are not actually stressed but we all view things differently.

I have come to realise and appreciate that whatever life you lead, stress does find it's own way into it but it's how you handle it that determines the outcome. I have chosen to take a hike for a couple days and recharge my batteries. I would love to go to the beach or even fishing just to get my mojo back but I gat a 9-5 job that demands my attention and I have decided to give it that attention whilst I switch off on here.

I would very much love to give advice to my fellow bloggers and readers about how to deal with stress or when you're running short in the motivation department but I will not because I need to deal with it first before I can share how I deal with it. I do know what works for me and what doesn't, but now is not yet the time to share! when I have not yet had to use it for a while as you know things change.

Before I embark on my short break, I would like to thank my fellow bloggers and especially my readers and thanks for the support it's greatly appreciated. I am sure you know it's not easy for me to write this post and admit to my personal flaw at this particular time but I appreciate your patience and time.

Blogging takes a ton of time, effort and hard work - it's bound to take its toll eventually. It does on me, every few months. Take a break and relax. I hope to see you back.

I've taken blog breaks before too! Sometimes you just need to step away and breathe - and there's nothing wrong with that!

Breaks are needed sometimes- I love when people openly admit it and take care of themselves first!

totally get the need to have a break, last week I put nothing up just because I had a 1000 other things I needed to do and I didn't want to get myself stressed out :-)

Take a break! You don't want to get burned out and quit blogging forever! That would be sad. :/

I just finished the book "The Promise of a Pencil" by Adam Braun. and he talks in one chapter about being able to be vulnerable is where you are most able to learn and grow. bravo for knowing when to take a break and doing it! it's something we all can learn from.

It's good to take a break from time to time and live :) It gives a different view on things and maybe you'll decide to do something different or maybe you'll come back with more energy and ideas!
